    Description

SPEX Lab/Pellet Press Parts and/or Accessories, Carver Test Cylinder Outfit?
For sale- a box of replacement parts or accessory items for a SPEX lab press.
Years ago I had a SPEX press and I am pretty sure this box of stuff came with it but got separated when I offloaded in the warehouse.
I sold the press long ago and the box of pieces that you see got left behind.
I’m pretty sure the press was a SPEX 3624, and I think if you look at what is being offered here it’s pretty obvious that the two thick threaded pieces are the main contact plunger from the 3624.
One of them was in a box on which someone had written “SPEX spare” or something to that effect.
The other was out loose in the box with the other items you see.
I’m almost certain that the SPEX press had some Carver markings on it.
I am more familiar with SPEX for their monochromators which were made by Jobin Yvon.
So it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise that they had Carver manufacture their press.
Only question would be whether Carver produced the same piece with their name and model number on it.
And as you can at least partially see one of the curved pieces in the foreground says on it that “Carver recommends the use of a Safety Shield and Safety Glasses when operating our equipment.”
Also in the box, shown in the last picture, are the instructions for the Carver TCO, Test Cylinder Outfit.
Now whether that might identify some of the other pieces you see, or all of them, or none of them I have no idea.
For all I know the only part of the TCO you get are the instructions.
And for all I know everything other than the two thick threaded pieces may be totally unrelated to the SPEX press.
Please examine the pictures carefully, as what you see is what (and all) you will get.
Untested, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.
However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.
Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.
Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.
Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs.
Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.
As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.
If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.
If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.
In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.

Sold as is, as described, as pictured.
Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.
Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.
If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.
Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.
Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.
Because of the weight and/or bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code.
With increasing frequency the ebay shipping calculator seems to be incapable of actually “calculating”, instead it prefers to tell you that the zip code you have entered is invalid.
Unless/Until they can fix it the only thing I can do is to plug my zip, your zip, the weight and dimensions in at fedex.com to arrive at a shipping cost for your particular shipment.
So if ebay isn’t providing a shipping cost automatically, you can always go to fedex.com and estimate it yourself.
It would be shipping from 27948 in a box presumed to be 12x12x12, 25 pounds.
If you don’t need some of the pieces I can probably shave something off the shipping cost you see.
    PCD.
