Rachel Simpson always try to create shoes that are versatile enough to be worn more than once. A lot of people find their wedding shoes with them, but also love the fact that they’ll be able to wear them again after the big day.  Ophelia is one shoe which gets that balance just right. The ivory suede base gives it a summery, bridal look but then over the top you have these gorgeous straps, which loop into the center and join together with a cute ribbon tie. The mixed metallics are bang on trend and add something really different, but the elegant design isn’t in your face.
BACKGROUND INFO:
As with many of Rachel Simpson's very signature styles, it took a few attempts to get Ophelia just right. They wanted to create a really open shoe, but one that also held you in really well and felt more supportive than a strappy sandal. They took the teardrop shape and played around with it, making it big enough to encase the foot, rather than being a small feature as they've done in the past. If it had just been the straps at the front, your toe would have popped out at the sides, but if they completely filled the gaps with the ivory suede the shoe looked a little heavy. So Rachel Simpson ended up creating the little cut outs you can see at both the front and back, which give the illusion of an open shoe whilst still giving you great support. The original sample had just the gold and silver, but it really came together when they added the rose gold too!
